Vacation Bible School

CHELAN - It’s the best week of Summer.  The Chelan Seventh-day Adventist church invites children from the ages of 4 - 12 to Vacation Bible School.  The theme of the program is “Shipwrecked. Rescued by Jesus”.  Come enjoy incredible music, amazing experiments, new friends, and surprising adventures.  The program will last from August 6 - 11.  Each day’s fun begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at Noon. The church is located at the corner of Highland and Markeson Streets.  If you have questions, call 509-682-5622.  They hope to see you there.

Manson Farmer’s Market

MANSON - The Farmer’s Market in Manson is open for the 2018 season.  Markets are Saturday and Wednesday mornings at the Manson Grange.  Local farmers, growers, crafters and artisans bring fresh picked produce and handcrafted items.  Market starts at 8:30 a.m. when the bell rings.  Sellouts are common so come early for the best selection.  Market runs until 11:30 a.m., some vendors may linger longer, but many vendors sellout and leave early.  If you are a grower or gardener in Chelan, Douglas or Okanogan county space is always available for produce vendors.  Come for a day for just $5, or the season for $50.  They have limited availability for new artists. Vendors must be parked by 8:00 a.m. The Manson Grange is at 157 Wapato Way on the right as you enter Manson. Thursday Evening Farmers Market

CHELAN -  Thursday Evening Farmers market is now open thru October, 4-7 p.m. every Thursday and is located on the corner of S. Emerson and Wapato Streets, between the Riverwalk Inn and Riverwalk Park. Enjoy live music, local crafts, fruits, vegetables and much more. For information www.chelanfarmersmarket.org

CHELAN - Coffee Club, Monday-Thursday, -10:30 a.m. Senior Exercise Class: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 1-2 p.m., any age welcome, sponsored by LCCH. Annual BBQ and Membership Drive
The Chelan Senior will hold its annual barbecue and membership drive on Friday, August 10 at 6 p.m. Bring a non-member and sign them up. There will be pulled pork sandwiches, cole slaw, beans and dessert. Sign up at the Center  or call Vita at 682-2712.
 

Indoor Yard Sale
The Chelan Senior Center will hold its annual Indoor Yard Sale on Saturday, August 25, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. For lunch: Amy’s wraps. There will be all kinds of goodies from Chelan Station Re-Runs and vendors. Sign up to sell or just come on down for lunch and shopping. Set will be Friday, August 24, 3-9 p.m. Tables are $10 each. Summer Schedule for rifle range
CHELAN - The North Cascades Sportsman Club rifle range is now on a summer schedule due to the risk of fire danger. Shooting is only permitted when a Range Safety Officer is on site. Shooting is limited to 200 yards. The range is open: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays,10 a.m. to noon (or longer if there is still activity). Please arrive before noon as the Range Safety Officer may close the range if there are no shooters present. The shotgun range schedule remains unchanged and is open on Sundays. Story time Chelan / Manson Libraries

CHELAN - Story time is every Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Chelan Public Library located on Emerson Street. Join them for singing, dancing, clapping, music making as well as reading. It’s both fun and educational!
MANSON - Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. the Manson Community Library offers a story time for children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers.  Join the group for a half hour of stories, rhymes, songs, finger plays and other activities.  For more information call the library at 687-3420.

CHELAN - Baby rhymin’ time is every Friday at 10 a.m., at the Chelan Pubic Library on Emerson Street, for ages 0-3 years. Join them for singing, dancing, nursery rhymes, musical instruments, and story telling for babies, waddlers and toddlers.

Free genealogical workshop

CHELAN - The Chelan Valley Genealogical Society (CVGS) invites you to the next general meeting on August 11, from 8:45 - 3:00 at the LDS Church at 195 Manson Hwy.  This is a free Workshop meeting with Donna Potter Phillips who will present several sessions on “Finding Your Family Online”. Handouts, notebooks, pencils, and door prizes will be provided.  It is a Potluck Salad meeting so come share your favorite salad with the group.

Cancer Support Groups

CHELAN - The Women’s Wellness Group, cancer support group, has two support groups. The second Tuesday of each month for lunch, with lunch provided by the Wenatchee Wellness Place, at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Board Room at 11:45 a.m.; and the fourth Wednesday of each month at LaBrisa, at 5 p.m.  For more information, contact Anne at 682-8718.

Senior Living Initiative meeting

CHELAN - The next Senior Living Initiative Meeting will be Wednesday, August 15, 5-6:30 p.m. at the PUD Conference Room on Woodin Avenue.  All interested are welcome to attend. The SLI team continues planning for the Sept. 26 “Summit ll” which will be held at the Senior Center from 5-7 pm. CHELAN - Hosted by the Lake Chelan Arts Council this festival incorporates all forms of creative arts. Enjoy fine arts and crafts by area artisans and vintage antiques and re-purposed treasures. There will be food, vintage trailers to wander through, and fun activities for kids. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday in Riverwalk Park. CHELAN - Berean Baptist Church has a potluck dinner after the morning service on the last Sunday of every month. The church is located at 515.  E. Woodin Ave. There will be no evening service on the Sunday.
