CHELAN - Coffee Club, Monday-Thursday, 10:30 a.m. Senior SAIL Exercise Class: Monday and  Wednesday, 1-2 p.m., Monday and Thursday evening, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sit down Beachball Volleyball, Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m. and Friday 1-2 p.m. Sponsored by LCCHC. Rock Painting: There is a free Rock Painting Class the last Tuesday  of each month, 2-4 p.m. All are welcome.

Baked potato bar and bingo, pumpkin spice thrown down
CHELAN - The Chelan Senior Center will have a Baked Potato Bar and Bingo event on Saturday, Oct. 20, starting at 6 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. There will be big baked potatoes with chili, cheese, ham, broccoli, sour cream and butter. Free Bingo will follow with prizes. Followed by dessert. Pumpkin Spice Throw Down: Enter your favorite pumpkin spice dessert: cookies, bars, pie, cake. Sign up sheet at the Senior Center. To RSVP for the Baked Potato Bar call Vita at 682-2712.

Story time Chelan / Manson Libraries

CHELAN - Story time is every Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Chelan Public Library located on Emerson Street. Join them for singing, dancing, clapping, music making as well as reading. It’s both fun and educational!
MANSON - Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. the Manson Community Library offers a story time for children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers.  Join the group for a half hour of stories, rhymes, songs, finger plays and other activities.  For more information call the library at 687-3420.

Genealogical Society to meet

CHELAN - The Chelan Valley Genealogical Society (CVGS) invites you to the general meeting on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Chelan Library on Emerson Street, 11:15 a.m. - 1 p.m. The program, presented by Helen and Brad Cromar from the Wenatchee Genealogical Society, will be on updated information on DNA and how to use the popular test results to further our own genealogy researches

Lake Chelan Crush Festival

CHELAN/MANSON - “Crush” is an open house at Lake Chelan and Manson wineries, offering the opportunity to really get a taste of what harvest is about.  They invite you to come out and take a tour through their cellars, stomp grapes, listen to music, watch harvest take place, taste juice from the press, and learn what it is really like to make wine.  Contact individual wineries for more information or visit

Manson School District needs your help

MANSON - Manson School District is forming a facilities review committee and would like to invite any resident of Manson to join in this work. The committee is charged with: Reviewing previous committee recommendations; Reviewing enrollment (past, current and projected); Reviewing current facilities and Reviewing staff and community input. Making recommendations to the Manson School Board. The first meeting is Oct, 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Manson District Office. Please call Janice Stewart at 687-3140 to RSVP.

MANSON - The Manson Community Council meets the third Tuesday of every month, 6 p.m. at the Manson Park Office on Pedoi Street. All are welcome to attend.

Cancer Support Groups

CHELAN - The Women’s Wellness Group, cancer support group, has two support groups. The second Tuesday of each month for lunch, with lunch provided by the Wenatchee Wellness Place, at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Board Room at 11:45 a.m.; and the fourth Wednesday of each month at LaBrisa, at 5 p.m.  For more information, contact Anne at 682-8718.

Senior Living Initiative

Change of location for Oct.
CHELAN - The next Senior Living Initiative meeting will be Wednesday, Oct. 17, 5-6:30 p.m..  Due to a schedule conflict at the PUD conference room this month, the meeting will be held at the Heritage Heights 2nd Floor Meeting Room, 505 E. Highland Avenue (next to Chelan Community Hospital) in Chelan.

Library Halloween Carnival

CHELAN - Chelan Friends of the Public Library will hold their 8th Annual Halloween Carnival on Oct. 20, 6-8 p.m. at the Chelan Public Library, 216 N. Emerson. Tickets can be purchased at the door. There will be Family Fun, Prizes, Eats, Treats and Costume Contest. Come out and support your local community and the Chelan Public Library.

5K Chelan Chase

CHELAN - Registration is  now open for the Chelan Chase which will be held Saturday, Oct. 20. This 5K chip timed event starts at 10 a.m. and is open to runners, walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers, with awards to top three finishers by age group. The first 200 to register will receive a free t-shirt. Race meeting Sat., Oct. 20, 9:45 a.m., Riverwalk Park Shelter with start 10 a.m. on the “Old Bridge”. Packet pick-up at St. Andrew’s Parish Hall Saturday 8-9:30 a.m. Open to all: runners, walkers, wheelchairs, strollers, families and teams. Register, donate, collect pledges or buy a t-shirt to support this important cause at  Proceeds benefit the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Mammography Department and the Wellness Place to provide mammograms at no cost to uninsured/underinsured patients, and also supports the needs of NCW cancer patients.

Pink Ribbon Classic - Golf Scramble

CHELAN - The Pink Ribbon Classic Golf Scramble  will be held Sunday, Oct. 21 at the Lake Chelan Golf Course.  All golfers are welcome to sign up with a partner or have one assigned.  Entry fee is $30, includes lunch, but not green fees.   Call the Pro Shop (509) 682-8026 or email Mark Lawrence for entry forms.
