Annual Harvest Dinner

CHELAN -  The Lake Chelan United Methodist Church will be serving its Annual Harvest Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 10,  5 - 7 p.m. at the church located on the corner of Johnson and Emerson.  Cost is by donation.  Come one, come all.  Enjoy a delicious feast of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green  beans, salad, rolls, and holiday pies.  It’s an autumn community tradition that has happened for three decades.

Holiday Boutique

CHELAN - The Chelan Senior Center will hold its Holiday Boutique, bake sale and luncheon on Saturday, Nov. 17, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the center, 534 E. Trow Avenue. For vendor table info call 682-2712. Luncheon will be homemade potato and ham chowder or chili, with bread. Cinnamon rolls and coffee will also be available.

Holiday Extravaganza vendor

MANSON - Holiday Extravaganza sponsored by the Manson Apple Blossom committee has openings for vendors.  The bazaar will be held at the Manson Grange Hall on Nov. 24, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.  Email Linda Blessin at lblessin@nwi.net or call her, 687-5008 for vendor table signup. There will be lots of crafts for gifts and home: Jewelry, handmade soaps, card, jams, candles, crochet and sewing items, painting, art work, gift baskets, bake sale and much more. There will also be freshly baked blueberry muffins, pie and coffee.

CHELAN - Coffee Club, Monday-Thursday, 10:30 a.m. Senior SAIL Exercise Class: Monday and  Wednesday, 1-2 p.m., Monday and Thursday evening, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sit down Beachball Volleyball, Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m. and Friday 1-2 p.m. Sponsored by LCCHC. Wii Bowling, Tuesdays, 10-11 a.m. Pinochle Tuesday, 1 p.m.  Bingo Thursday, 1 p.m.
Rock Painting: There is a free Rock Painting Class the last Tuesday  of each month, 2-4 p.m. All are welcome.

Chelan Basin Conservancy to meet

CHELAN - The October meeting of Chelan Basin Conservancy begins at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, the 24th, in an upstairs meeting room at Fire Station No. 7 in downtown Chelan. A finger foods potluck will precede election of officers and planning of goals and activities for the 2018-2019 season. All CBC members are encouraged to attend.

Cancer Support Groups

CHELAN - The Women’s Wellness Group, cancer support group, has two support groups. The second Tuesday of each month for lunch, with lunch provided by the Wenatchee Wellness Place, at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Board Room at 11:45 a.m.; and the fourth Wednesday of each month at LaBrisa, at 5 p.m.  For more information, contact Anne at 682-8718.

Story time Chelan / Manson Libraries

CHELAN - Story time is every Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Chelan Public Library located on Emerson Street. Join them for singing, dancing, clapping, music making as well as reading. It’s both fun and educational!

MANSON - Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. the Manson Community Library offers a story time for children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers.  Join the group for a half hour of stories, rhymes, songs, finger plays and other activities.  For more information call the library at 687-3420.

Baby rhymin’ time

CHELAN - Baby rhymin’ time is every Friday at 10 a.m., at the Chelan Pubic Library on Emerson Street, for ages 0-3 years. Join them for singing, dancing, nursery rhymes, musical instruments, and story telling for babies, waddlers and toddlers.

CHELAN - The Lake Chelan United Methodist Church Community ‘Soup’ Kitchen is open every Friday, noon to 1:30 p.m. The church is located at the corner of Johnson and Emerson.

Lake Chelan Community Choir Christmas Cantata rehearsal

MANSON - The Lake Chelan Community Choir will be rehearsing at North Shore Bible Church, in Manson on Sunday, Oct. 28, 1-3 p.m. for the Christmas Cantata: “One of Us”.  This is the second of seven rehearsals. Music and rehearsal CD’s will be provided.  If you’ve not sung with the community choir before, but have been “thinking about it, consider yourself invited  to come and sing. Performance will be held on Dec. 7 and 8. For additional information, call director Marci Hale at 687-3791.

Potluck dinner

CHELAN - Berean Baptist Church has a potluck dinner after the morning service on the last Sunday of every month. The church is located at 515.  E. Woodin Ave. There will be no evening service on that Sunday.

Trick or Treat Downtown, Costume Contest

CHELAN - Historic Downtown Chelan invites all goblins, ghosts, ghouls, princesses, cowboys and their Mummies and Deadies to join the fun and fill their bags with treats provided by downtown merchants from 5-7 p.m. Costume contests begin at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Emerson and Woodin. www.historicchelan.org

Healthcare info

WENATCHEE - This is the 5th Open Enrollment and what we understand is that people can use some help with Healthcare. Over the last 5 years we have heard a lot of questions. How to enroll? What doctors accept it? Does it cover glasses? Is Healthcare important?  There will be enrollment assisters on site and ACA friendly providers will be available to answer questions about different healthcare services in the valley. There is no charge for this event held at Pybus Public Market on Nov. 3 from 10 a.m.- 2:00 p.m., hosted by Suzie Health Solutions. For more information call (509) 293-9051

Veterans Day Parade

CHELAN - The Veterans Day Parade and Barbecue Lunch will be held on Sunday, Nov. 11, beginning at 11 a.m. Bring your flag, be proud, show your patriotism. Come celebrate the veterans of our community at Chelan’s annual Veteran’s Day Parade along Woodin Avenue. Parade route: Columbia Street to Woodin Avenue to Sanders Street, ends at Wapato Avenue. Immediately following the parade, join the veterans for a barbeque lunch provided by the Chelan #7 Firefighters at Station 71. Veterans and First Responders eat free. Others welcome to join in for a $5 donation. Proceeds benefit the Lake Chelan VFW Post #6853. Interested in being a parade participant contact Brian Thompson, bltzown@yahoo.com
