CHELAN/NCW - Musician Sean Gaskell will give a musical and educational presentation on the West African Kora — a 21-stringed harp traditionally played by oral and musical historians in Gambia — at several North Central Regional Library branches: Quincy Public Library, 6 p.m. Oct. 29; Wenatchee Public Library, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 30; Moses Lake Public Library, 3:30 p.m. Oct. 31; Ephrata Public Library, 7 p.m. Nov. 1; Cashmere Public Library, 4 p.m. Nov. 2 and Chelan Public Library, 1 p.m. Nov. 3.

Annual Harvest Dinner

CHELAN -  The Lake Chelan United Methodist Church will be serving its Annual Harvest Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 10,  5 - 7 p.m. at the church located on the corner of Johnson and Emerson.  Cost is by donation.  Come one, come all.  Enjoy a delicious feast of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green  beans, salad, rolls, and holiday pies.  It’s an autumn community tradition that has happened for three decades.

CHELAN - Join Chelan Fire & Rescue’s Fire Chief Tim Lemon, Deputy Chief Mark Donnell, or Assistant Chief Brandon Asher for a morning cup of coffee 9-10 a.m. on Wednesdays at The Vogue in downtown Chelan.

Trick or Treat Downtown, Costume Contest

 HDCA will be hosting a safe and spooky trick or treating this Halloween. Downtown will be filled with ghostly melodies that will lead everyone to the Campbell’s Haunted House. Don’t forget to grab hot chocolate at Chelan Fire Station before the costume competition at 6:15 p.m. at the Woodin/Emerson intersection.

Michael Jackson’s Thriller to be performed

CHELAN - Gather up and enjoy the moves from Chelan and Manson locals, as they perform Michael Jackson’s Thriller! Zombies will dancing at the intersection Woodin/Emerson in Downtown Chelan on Halloween night starting at 6 p.m.

Trunk ‘N’ Treat

MANSON - On Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 5 p.m., the little trick or treaters can make their way down to the North Shore Bible Church parking lot. Each vehicle will be loaded with treats for all boys and girls. Prizes for best car/truck decoration will be awarded.  Truck ‘N’ Treat is an event sponsored by North Shore Bible Church and the Manson Chamber of Commerce. They will provide apple cider, coffee, hot chocolate, popcorn and a photo booth for kids. For more info contact the church at (509) 687-3636

Healthcare info

WENATCHEE - This is the 5th Open Enrollment and what we understand is that people can use some help with Healthcare. Over the last 5 years we have heard a lot of questions. How to enroll? What doctors accept it? Does it cover glasses? Is Healthcare important?  There will be enrollment assisters on site and ACA friendly providers will be available to answer questions about different healthcare services in the valley. CHELAN - This Mexican holiday celebrates and honors deceased loved ones. Beautiful altars are made - decorated with candles, flowers and food - it is believed that adult spirits come down to enjoy the festivities that have been prepared for them. On Saturday, Nov. 3, Noon-6:30 p.m. make your down to Riverwalk Park, it will be filled with story-telling, kids activities, piñatas and live music.  You will even have a chance to place your own decorations to honor your love ones at the central altar. Dancing horses will be performing and the festivities will culminate with a lantern light parade.  The public will also get a chance to vote on the best taco in town during the Taco Crawl or the best margarita Chelan has to offer.  Taco Crawl 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Margarita tasting 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

CHELAN - The North Cascades Sportsman’s Club Board meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Meetings take place at the Chelan PUD located at 1034 E. Woodin Ave. in Chelan.

Cancer Support Groups

CHELAN - The Women’s Wellness Group, cancer support group, has two support groups. The second Tuesday of each month for lunch, with lunch provided by the Wenatchee Wellness Place, at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Board Room at 11:45 a.m.; and the fourth Wednesday of each month at LaBrisa, at 5 p.m.  For more information, contact Anne at 682-8718.

Lilac Services for the Blind meetings

WENATCHEE - The Wenatchee Valley Chapter of the Lilac Services For the Blind meets every second Wednesday of the month at 4 Kittitas St. across the street from the bus station in Wenatchee, second floor, at noon. CHELAN - Berean Baptist Church has a potluck dinner after the morning service on the last Sunday of every month. The church is located at 515.  E. Woodin Ave. There will be no evening service on that Sunday.
