Senior Center Events

Coffee Klatch, Monday-Thursday, 10-11:30 a.m. Free Exercise Class: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 1-2 p.m., any age welcome, sponsored by LCCH. Upcoming events at the Chelan Senior Center: 

Oct. 14 - 6 p.m.: Baked Potato Bar and Bingo. Cost: $25 for 2 (any 2, spouse, buddy, SO, BFF. Do not need to be a member. Bingo to follow and an Ice Cream Sundae Bar. Oct. 31: Halloween Candy give out to the kids (downtown Chelan) 5-7 p.m., meet in front of Bamboo Shoot (wear your costume). Nov. 4: Annual Holiday Boutique and Bake Sale.  Nov. 11:  Karaoke. Dec. 8: Holiday Members Dinner.

CHELAN - The regular meeting for Chelan County Fire District #7  will be held Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the fire station, corner of Wapato and Sanders. The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. www.chelan7.com

Men’s group

CHELAN - The Lake Chelan United Methodist Men’s group meets the 2nd and 4th Thursdays, at The Vogue, at 7 a.m.. All men who have a belief in Jesus Christ are welcome to attend.

Celebrate Recovery

CHELAN - Lake Chelan Celebrate Recovery Meets every Thursday at Living Stone Church, (formerly Little Stone Church), 2133 W. Woodin Avenue. Dinner is at 6 p.m., cost is $3. Group meeting at 6:30 p.m., followed by gender-specific small groups. Celebrate Recovery is a confidential, Biblically-based twelve step program for anyone struggling with addiction, co-dependency, gambling, relationships and other life issues.

Help for veterans 

CHELAN - Veterans.  Join the Chelan County Veteran’s Service Officer, WorkSource, and SSVF representatives for coffee and organizational information the second Thursday of the month (Oct. 12) in Chelan at the Apple Cup Café from 9 am until 12 p.m.   If you are a veteran or dependent and are seeking employment, homeless or at risk, want to request a DD214, or talk about potentially filing a VA Disability Claim, join them on these dates for more information.  For questions call Tony Sandoval at (509) 664-6801 or Bob Goedde at 682-2366.

Choir rehearsals for Christmas Cantata

MANSON - First rehearsal for :Lake Chelan Community Choir Christmas cantata is Sunday,  Oct. 15. Director this year is   Steve Sturtz, and  music will be  Christmas selections from Handel’s Messiah. They will be 1-3 p.m. at the North Shore Bible Church in Manson.  Call Marci at 687-3791 to reserve your music.

CHELAN - Al-Anon meets every Tuesday, 12 p.m. in the Apple Cup Cafe Banquet Room. This is an open meeting.

Senior Living Initiative meeting

CHELAN - The next Senior Living Initiative Steering Committee Meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 5-6:30 p.m., in the PUD Conference Room on Woodin Avenue. All are welcome to attend.

MANSON - The Manson Community Council will be Tuesday, Oct. 24, 6 p.m. at the Manson Park Office on Pedoi Street. All are welcome to attend.

Cancer Support Groups

CHELAN - The Women’s Wellness Group, cancer support group, has 2 support groups. The second Tuesday of each month for lunch, with lunch provided by the Wenatchee Wellness Place, at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Board Room at 11:45 a.m.; and the fourth Wednesday of each month at LaBrisa at 5 p.m.  For more information, contact Anne at 682-8718.

‘An afternoon of Music and Treats’, women’s event

CHELAN - Vegetable Soup Brigade presents “An Afternoon of Music and Treats” women’s event. Nicole Unser will sing country and gospel music.   The event will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, 2 – 4 p.m., at the Chelan Senior Center, 534 E. Trow in Chelan. Take some time to enjoy conversation, special music and fellowship with your friends. Potluck dinner

CHELAN - Berean Baptist Church has a potluck dinner after the morning service on the last Sunday of every month. The church is located at 515.  E. Woodin Ave. There will be no evening service on the Sunday.

NCSC to meet

CHELAN - The next meeting of the North Cascades Sportsman Club board will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 1. Board meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Meetings take place at the Chelan PUD located at 1034 E. Woodin Ave. in Chelan.

Bilingual story time

CHELAN - Bilingual story time is the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Chelan Library. A fun half hour of stories in Spanish and English for families. The Chelan Library is located at the corner of Emerson and Chelan. For information 682-5131.

Aging & Adult Services board meeting

EAST WENATCHEE - The 2017 meeting schedule for the Columbia River Council of Governments, governing body of Aging and Adult Care of Central Washington, scheduled to meet at 50 Simon Street S.E.: Nov. 2; and Dec.7.   All meetings begin at 1:30 p.m. Grant County Commissioner Cindy Carter is chair of the council, composed of one county commissioner from Adams, Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Lincoln, and Okanogan Counties. CHELAN - Chelan Friends of the Public Library will have their monthly member meeting Monday, Nov. 14, (always the second Monday of each month) at 7 p.m., in the Chelan Public Library meeting room, 218 N. Emerson Street. Any and all interested persons are welcome.

MANSON - The Chelan County Fire District 5 Commissioners will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 4:30 p.m. at Station 51 located at 250 W. Manson Blvd.

Heritage Heights board meeting

CHELAN - The Heritage Heights Assisted Living monthly board meeting will be held Nov. 14, (second Tuesday of every month), at 5 p.m. in the activity room at Heritage Heights.  Community members are welcome to attend.  The meeting lasts approximately one hour.
