Manson Farmer’s Market

MANSON - The Farmer’s Market in Manson opens at 8:30 a.m. when the bell rings on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, at the Manson Grange, 157 Wapato Way and runs until 11:30 a.m.  Local farmers, growers, crafters and artisans bring fresh picked produce and handcrafted items. Sellouts are common so come early for the best selection, some vendors may linger longer, but many vendors sellout and leave early.  If you are a grower or gardener in Chelan, Douglas or Okanogan county space is always available for produce vendors.  Come for a day for just $5, or the season for $50.  They have limited availability for new artists. Thursday Evening Farmers Market

CHELAN -  Thursday Evening Farmers market is open 4-7 p.m. every Thursday, on the corner of S. Emerson and Wapato Streets, between the Riverwalk Inn and Riverwalk Park. CHELAN - Senior Living Initiative Steering Committee Meeting will be Wednesday, June 21, 5-6:30 p.m.,  in the PUD Conference Room on Woodin Avenue. All are welcome to attend.

Story time 

at library

CHELAN - Story time is every Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Chelan Public Library located on Emerson Street. Join them for singing, dancing, clapping, music making as well as reading. It’s both fun and educational!

Story time at library

MANSON - Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. the Manson Community Library offers a story time for children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers.  Join the group for a half hour of stories, rhymes, songs, finger plays and other activities.  For more information call the library at 687-3420.

Summer programs at libraries 

CHELAN / MANSON - Summer vacation may be a time to relax, swim in the lake and enjoy the outdoors, but its also a good occasion to cozy up in a blanket and read or attend one of the summer programs at your local library.

Celebrate Recovery

CHELAN - Lake Chelan Celebrate Recovery Meets every Thursday at Living Stone Church, (formerly Little Stone Church), 2133 W. Woodin Avenue. Dinner is at 6 p.m., cost is $3. Group meeting at 6:30 p.m., followed by gender-specific small groups. Celebrate Recovery is a confidential, Biblically-based twelve step program for anyone struggling with addiction, co-dependency, gambling, relationships and other life issues.

Baby rhymin’ time

CHELAN - Baby rhymin’ time is every Friday at 10 a.m., at the Chelan Pubic Library on Emerson Street, for ages 0-3 years. Join them for singing, dancing, nursery rhymes, musical instruments, and story telling for babies, waddlers and toddlers. 

Community ‘Soup’ Kitchen

CHELAN - The Lake Chelan United Methodist Church Community ‘Soup’ Kitchen is open every Friday, noon to 1:30 p.m. The church is located at the corner of Johnson and Emerson.

Saul Gallegos 

Memorial Run

MANSON - Join the community at Singleton Park in Manson for this event, named for Deputy Saul Gallegos, who was killed in the line of duty in 2003. Walk the 3K or 5K, or run the 5K or 10K. All proceeds from the run will help fund scholarships for each of Gallegos’ four sons. Century Challenge 

CHELAN - Take your pick of a 30, 35 or 41 mile bike ride through the picturesque Lake Chelan Valley  starting in Chelan at the Don Morse Park on Saturday, June 24. The challenge provides a three-segment course of varying skill. Take in the sights of Navarre Coulee, Manson and McNeil Canyon. To register: www.cyclechelan.com

Cycle de Vine

CHELAN - Cycle de Vine occurs concurrently with the Century Challenge. Riders travel 28.3 miles, stopping at several of the Lake Chelan Valley’s wineries. The trip across the lake will either be from Manson Bay Park or the Lake Chelan Winery depending on whether you start by riding along the north shore to Manson Bay or south shore to Lake Chelan State Park. Potluck dinner

CHELAN - Berean Baptist Church has a potluck dinner after the morning service on the last Sunday of every month. The church is located at 515.  E. Woodin Ave. There will be no evening service on the Sunday.

CHELAN - Al-Anon meets every Tuesday, 12 p.m. in the Apple Cup Cafe Banquet Room. This is an open meeting.

Cancer Support Groups

CHELAN - Second Meeting Added: The Women’s Wellness Group, cancer support group, now has 2 support groups, the second Tuesday of each month for lunch, with lunch provided by the Wenatchee Wellness Place, at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Board Room at 11:45 a.m. and the fourth Wednesday of each month at LaBrisa at 5 p.m.  For more information, contact Anne at 682-8718.

District meeting

MANSON - The Chelan County Fire District 5 Commissioners will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, July 11, at 4:30 p.m. at Station 51 located at 250 W. Manson Blvd. 

Heritage Heights board meeting

CHELAN - The Heritage Heights Assisted Living monthly board meeting will be held July 11, (second Tuesday of every month), at 5 p.m. in the activity room at Heritage Heights.  Community members are welcome to attend.  The meeting lasts approximately one hour. Veteran’s 

Assistance

CHELAN - The Chelan County Veteran’s Service Coordinator is in Chelan the second Thursday of each month.  Tony Sandoval will be at the Apple Cup Cafe Banquet Room, 9-11 a.m. Those veterans who need to file a claim or inquire about benefits can come at that time. NCSC to meet

CHELAN - The next meeting of the North Cascades Sportsman Club board will be held on Wednesday, July 5. Board meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Meetings take place at the Chelan PUD located at 1034 E. Woodin Ave. in Chelan.
