New pilot house display in Riverwalk Park

Posted

CHELAN - Come see the new interpretive information boards at the pilot house site near the pavilion at Riverwalk Park.

The pilot house of the Lady of the Lake I (1944-1998) was put the park in 2008 after a great community fundraising effort spearheaded by Dick Simonds.

The Lake Chelan Historical Society has mounted four panels with descriptions of 11 boats that have plied the waters of Lake Chelan, ranging from 1889 to the present. Recently the decking of the pilot house was replaced with time and money donated by the local Rotary Club. Thanks to Kirk and Mary McGovern for the signage and to Ron McGaughey, museum manager, for the graphic art work.
