Chelan baseball explodes in sixth to win against Warden

Posted

CHELAN - The Chelan Baseball team found themselves in a precarious situation last Thursday (April 4) at home versus the traveling Warden Cougars.  Trailing by the score of 5-1 entering the bottom of the 6th inning, the Goats decided they had seen enough of the pesky cats.

The offense exploded, sending 16 batters to the plate in the inning, scoring 12 runs. The Goats muscle was on full display, totaling 9 hits, including 3 home runs by Christopherson, Corrigan, and Stamps. Three doubles by Bird, Reeves, and Sporseen, and three singles rounded out the offensive onslaught.

Quinn Stamps earned his first win of the season on the mound, tossing 3 scoreless innings.   Saturdays (April 6) scheduled double header was cancelled by Connell, when they discovered they didn't have enough kids to field a team. That double header is to made up  later in the year, or the Goats can add two wins to their impressive total via forfeits.
