Chelan Track and Field, a season of personal records

Posted

This has been a season of personal records (PR) in spite of the slow start we’ve had this spring.  If you follow the links below,  you will see how our student athletes have been faring lately and current standings in district.  Our athletes marks have been consistently improving with a large majority setting personal records at recent meets.  This is very encouraging considering how hard they have been training.

As the season wraps up, the training will wind down and our athletes will benefit from competing with fresh legs.

On Wednesday May 8, we traveled to Peshastin to compete in the CTL meet.  This meet was not a state qualifying meet but, was a nice preview of what we can expect at districts.  We had two CTL champions.  On the boys side, Bert Mendivil won the triple jump with a jump of 40’3.5”.  It was nice to see Bert jumping so well and peaking near the end of the season.  On the girls side, Elly Collins won the 100 M hurdles with a time of 15.90 seconds.  It was a very exciting race between her and her long-time rival Renea Taylor from Okanogan.

Other athletes who are posting marks and times near qualifying standards are:
Matea Ivory and Molly Oswald in the 100M
Matea Ivory in the 200M
Kyle Jackson and Molly Oswald in the 400M
Ezequiel Campos and Teagan Silva in the 800 M
Christopher Knight in the 3200 M
Girls 4x100 M Relay consisting of Matea Ivory, Lucy Bordner, Molly Oswald, Elly Collins, Aliyah Villasenor, and Hailee Huddleston.
Hailee Huddleston in the Javelin
Elly Collins in the Pole Vault
Bert Mendivil in the Long Jump
