Brewster 58   Chelan 36
Brewster hit five 3-pointers in the 2nd quarter of Saturday night’s contest to race past Chelan 58 -36.  Tied after the 1st period, Brewster’s hot shooting combined with a few untimely turnovers and cold shooting from the Lady Goats resulted in a 35 - 14 halftime deficit.   Chelan battled back to win the 3rd quarter cutting the lead to 15 before a late Brewster run put the game away.
Chelan got 9 points from Freshman Xitlali Cruz and 7 points each from Freshmen Katie Rainville and Booh Huddleston.
“Brewster got hot and we gave up a big quarter.   We had stretches where we needed to make better decisions with the ball.  I loved our effort throughout the game… and we need to play mistake-free basketball for longer periods.  We’ll clean it up and get ready for Omak next Wednesday,” said Chelan Coach Steve Nygreen.
The Lady Goats have back-to-back CTL games coming up next week.  Chelan travels to Omak next Wednesday, the 17th for an important CTL battle with 2nd place Omak.  The Goats battle Cascade Thursday as the Kodiaks come to Chelan January 18th.  Game time for both games is 5:45 p.m.

Brewster defeats Chelan 64-44

The Brewster Bears defeated the Chelan Goats 64-44 at Brewster High School Saturday night.  Brewster guards Corey Jarrell and Joe Taylor combined for 44 pts vs Chelan.  Chelan was lead by Quinn Stamp’s 21pts and 13 rebs.  Connor Wilson  hit 5 3pt FGs finished with 15 pts.  The Bears made a good run in the 3rd quarter outscoring the Goats by 11pts in the quarter.
“We had to navigate around some foul trouble early, but I thought we did a good job of battling through that in the first half.  Unfortunately, we were careless with the ball and threw away too many opportunities.  Our effort defensively has to be better in the second half.”
