Chelan Boys basketball came out with energy and intensity in their first quarter game at Okanogan High School, playing the Bulldogs tough in the opening minutes.  However, Chelan's turnovers, missed free throws and inability to get defensive stops sunk the Goats hopes.  Okanogan won 75-29.
"I thought we had great energy and enthusiasm to start our game tonight.  Okanogan did a good job of moving the ball and getting good looks.  We need to be better locating guys in transition.  We have to get back to playing solid defense and sharing the ball on offense," said Coach Jeff Pearl.

In a game of scoring runs, the Lady Goats came up short on the road against the Okanogan Bulldogs 48-43.  Chelan raced out to a 13-4 lead in the first quarter as 5 different players scored.  Okanogan battled back to tie the game at 15 and the teams traded blows until halftime when the score was knotted at 22.  Okanogan outscored the Goats 12-4 in the 3rd as Chelan went ice-cold from the field.  The Lady Goats battled back to within 3 points in the 4th quarter by burying 5 3-pointers to close the game to one possession.  Chelan fouled late to get the ball back and the Bulldogs hit their free throws to secure the game.  The Lady Goats were lead by Lexie Gleasman with 12 points.  Booh Huddleston chipped in 10, Xitlali Cruz had 7 and Katie Rainville added 6 points.
"We started out great on defense.  Their two stars got rolling in the 2nd quarter and combined for 15 points.  We fought back in the 4th quarter and had the margin to one possession, but couldn't make up the difference," said Coach Steve Nygreen.
