MANSON - Hayli Libbey-Thompson and Leslie Burns have united forces as they coach the 2018-2019 Manson Trojan softball team.

Twenty-seven Lady Trojans are getting ready for some softball action as they work hard to win more than games than last year. “Last year we won two games, it was a big improvement over the season before,” said Libbey-Thompson.

The coaching staff is working on developing a large pitching crew, as well as continuing to teach and learn the game. Burns clarified that they are also working on developing the young players in the team, as they will be losing 14 senior players this year. “We are trying to give the young players experience and knowledge and playing time,” said Burns.

So far the girls are looking a lot better than what they all had anticipated. Do to this, both coaches want, “to beat more than one team, we want to end the season with our heads high.”

The Lady Trojans are loud and have great amounts energy, they also have “strength and muscle.” The players create a supportive atmosphere which will help them on the field as they compete this season.

A lot of the softball games have already been rescheduled for the Lady Trojans due to the weather. At the moment it looks like the team will be playing a double-header against  Oroville in Manson, however it all depends on the field conditions.
