Manson girls soccer: Small team, big hopes

Posted

MANSON – Manson High School’s girls soccer team is willing to put in all their best efforts into trying to win more games and score more goals this season.

The Lady Trojans have lost every match of the season they played so far, however with every game they play they improve.

Having a small team with some returning girls and others who just joined the team has made it difficult for them to compete. Coach Gilberto Romero stated having no subs at times affects the team’s performance because when it comes down to second half, many of the girls are already tired.

There has also been a couple injuries in team, Romero explained that one of their forwards is injured and will be missing out on the season.

Romero wants the girls to improve from last year and also do better at each game they play.

The coaching staff has a great relationship with the girls, “we joke around at times, but we also know we have to take games and practices very seriously.”

Overall, the girls get along pretty well since they have been involved in the team for two or three years.

The Lady Trojans next home game will be against Pateros at Singleton Park in Manson, kick off is at 4:30 p.m.
