Manson sweeps Shockers 3-0

MANSON - The Manson Trojan Volleyball team hosted Waterville-Mansfield on Thursday and both JV and Varsity swept the Shockers in 3 set matches.

In Varsity action, set scores were 25-21, 25-12 and 25-14.
Leading the team in kills for the Trojans were Josephine Thompson with 12, Maycee Ward with 10 and Megan Clausen with 8.

Megan Clausen led the team in blocks with 4.

Defensively, the Trojans were led by Josephine Thompson with 23 digs, Lauren Soliday with 14 and Maycee Ward added 13.

Leading the team on Serve Receive were Megan Clausen, Josephine Thompson and Briseida Landa- all passing above 70% for the Trojans.

Behind the service line, the Trojans served hot all night with 4 players serving 100%: Maycee Ward (13/13 with 3 aces), Lauren Soliday (9/9), Sarah Simmons (5/5) and Brenda Alonso (3/3). Briseida Landa served 13/14 and Josephine served 11/13 with 5 aces.

On the JV side, set scores were 25-14, 25-21 and 26-24.

Highlights came from Maya Hannah, who led the team with 7 kills with Ali Adame, Jenny Cesar-Alonso and Melanie Marin each adding 3.

Behind the service line, 5 servers hit 100%: Melanie Marin (13/13 with 5 aces), Ali Adame (11/11 with 3 aces), Natalie Solorio (11/11), Katie Gosvener (8/8) and Bryanna Harris (4/4).

Overall, it was a great night for the Trojans- with both Varsity and JV playing solid team Volleyball.
