New roles to be played by Trojans Boys Basketball

Posted

MANSON - The Manson Trojans Boys Basketball team is ready to compete in the CWB - 2B league.

The team is composed of five seniors, two juniors, two sophomores and one freshman. Some of the returner players played small roles in the varsity team last year. Coach Erik Helleson explained that a lot of the varsity guys are playing new roles this time around.

With “three or four really good shooters and good pressure defense” the team has “a great chance of surprising some people,” said Coach.

Helleson states that this team has some of the best chemistry he has seen, in his six years as coach. “They celebrate each other’s successes, they push and advocate for each other, they’re competing, but they are also falling into place with roles in this team,” Helleson added.

The coaching staff and the team’s relationship is very strong, which adds a major plus.

In the board’s locker room, the team has posted what is going to take for them to get to the Spokane Arena.

The Trojans will be facing Bridgeport at home on Friday, Dec. 7 starting at 7:30 p.m.

Overall, the Trojans are 1-1, defeating Entiat 51 - 44 and losing against Lake Roosevelt 63 - 38.
