Teammates make Honorable Mention

MANSON – Junior baseball star Avery Thompson was the only Trojan nominated to the 2018 Central Washington B-2B baseball All-League First Team by league coaches and athletic directors last month. Thompson  joined players selected from Brewster, Liberty Bell, Tonasket, Lake Roosevelt and Waterville-Mansfield. Three of Thomson’s teammates made the list of All-League Honorable Mentions. They are senior Zach Serafini, junior Jose Pascasio, and sophomore Parker Schoenwald.
Thompson finished with the third-best batting average in the league, coach Bill Thompson said. “He led the team in all offensive categories and hit .492, with 31 RBI’s, 16 1B, 9 2B 3 3B, 1 HR, scoring 34 runs,” said Thompson. “He pitched 35-2/3 innings and recorded 54 strikeouts.”
The Trojans finished the year out of post-season competition in fifth place with a winning record of 9-7 in league and 11-7 overall.
