Trojan baseball hungry for a shot at playoffs

Posted

MANSON - The Trojans opened up the 2019 season with the first practice of the season on Monday, Feb. 25.  Twenty-four players have turned out with five returning seniors: Avery Thompson, Jose Pascasio, Victor Calderon, Jake Lodwig and Bryan Bernardo.

The Trojans are coming off of their best season in over a decade with an 11-7 record in 2018, and with narrowly missing the playoffs in 2018. The team is hungry for a shot at the playoffs in 2019.

The Trojans will be lead by captains Jose Pascasio, Avery Thompson, Jake Lodwig and Parker Schoenwald.  Pitching and defense look to be the team’s strengths this season, so coaches are looking to see who can provide some timely offense.

Efforts are underway to clear away snow and early games look to be rescheduled.

The 2019 schedule can be found on CWBathletics.com.  Updates and game write-ups can be found on the team’s Facebook under Manson Trojan Baseball.
