Trojans take down Brewster Bears, take league championship

Posted

MANSON – The Trojans hosted the Brewster Bears Friday, Oct. 26 at the Manson Athletic Complex (MAC) field, in a rivalry showdown to make history. It’s no secret that Manson and Brewster have been rivals for decades, and for decades Manson has fallen to the strong-armed Bears.
This year, however, with brothers Jake and Joey Johanson as Head Coaches for opposing sides, the story has changed. The Trojans, going into the game with a record of 6-1, were amped and ready when charging the field to take on the Bears in a fight for the title of league champs. Fighting for the honor and bragging rights of the team, and for Head Coach Joey Johanson, the team battled every minute of the four quarters, and were taking no prisoners.
The Bears, unprepared for the determination of the Trojans, were stopped midway in routes and allowed only six points to the Trojans’ 28 by the end of the game.
The Trojans will be hosting the playoff game against Liberty Christian, Friday, Nov. 3 at MAC.
