MANSON - The Trojans welcomed the Shockers of Waterville to beautiful Singleton Park for an afternoon league game and the weather conditions were ideal for baseball.

The Trojans sent senior Avery Thompson to the hill and senior Jose Pascasio was the starting catcher.  Thompson threw a gem, a complete game shutout and had a perfect game going into the 5th inning.

Thompson’s location was spot on and he had great command of his breaking pitches.  Thompson pitched 7 innings, striking out 16, walking 0, giving up only 2 hits using an efficient 95 pitches.

The defense was hardly called upon, behind Thompson who also fielded his position beautifully.  The Trojan defense was flawless on the afternoon recording zero errors.
The offense put up 9 runs on only 4 hits, and employed daring base running, bunting and fundamental small ball baseball.  Jose Pascasio had 2 hits, a single and a double, recording 3 RBI’s and thrilled the crowd when he stole home finishing with a great head-first slide.
Trojans with hits were Avery Thompson, Jose Pascasio (2), and Parker Schoenwald.
A solid team victory indeed with 17 Trojans entering the game.

A special thank you goes out to our fans who rocked the cheering section tonight. And thank you to our score keepers Bev La Mar and Paula Fitzpatrick-great job!!
