Habitat names families for new townhomes

Photos by Zach Johnson The second family to be chosen was the Rodriguez-Perez family of Luis (standing in back on left side) his wife Azucena (holding flower pot) and their two kids Luis Jr. and Mia. They were similarly in a state of ecstasy as the Espinosa family and are looking forward to moving next to their new neighbors. Now that both families know they were chosen and the house configuration is becoming more final, it is about time to break ground on the site. The goal is to have both families moved into their new houses this fall. This is the first time Habitat has given away two houses in a year, but they already have land purchased for the next few houses, so they are sure to try two more next year as well.

The Espinosa family consisting of Jesus (in middle with Volcom shirt) Daniela (right) and their two kids Jr. (left in blue shirt) and Jiovany (black shirt) were one of the families selected for a new house by the Lake Chelan Habitat for Humanity on Wednesday, May 17. After being told they got the house, the family was bubbling with excitement as Daniela said it was a dream come true to become homeowners.
