Lake Chelan Community Hospital (LCCH) Foundation is releasing its Honor Your Caregiver campaign this May. The purpose of the program is to provide patients and their families with a way to thank caregivers for exceptional service.
"Patients often ask us how they can thank an individual caregiver that was instrumental in their healthcare," said LCCH Foundation President Lester Cooper. "The answer is simple-give a gift in honor of the individual that made a difference in your care."
Donors are encouraged to write a personal note relating to the healthcare professional they are honoring. Honorees and their supervisors will receive a copy of the note from the donor.
"Most of us can remember the name of the doctor who handed us our first child, or a nurse that was particularly helpful when caring for a loved one with a terminal illness. This program offers patients and their families the chance to recognize those healthcare professionals. Not only will it make their day, but the gifts will go towards improving healthcare services," explained Cooper.
Through donor contributions, the LCCH Foundation has recently funded a child wellness program, Glidescopes for EMS vehicles, and a coagulation instrument for the LCCH laboratory. The release of the program coincides with National Nurses Week, May 6-12.
"There is no greater gift a nurse can receive than words from a patient who has experienced outstanding care. This is an excellent time for our community to provide their feedback, so we can share it with our caregivers," said LCCH Chief Nursing Officer Carol Velasquez.
