3-on-3 basketball tourney canceled

At 11 a.m. today, Friday, August 17 Jennifer Collins announced on that the Lake Chelan Slam ‘n’ Jam 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament has been canceled. The tournament was scheduled for this week, August 18 and 19.

“We've been checking the air quality numbers hourly, and have determined that it is between 170 and 230 consistently with 25 mph winds expected tonight, therefore we have no choice but to cancel,” wrote Collins on the Slam ‘n’ Jam website.

The lightning storm from earlier this morning also played a part into canceling the event, the area is under severe fire watch until Sunday, August 19.

As a reminder, “the tournament is a fundraiser and there are no refunds.  We are happy to mail you your t-shirts.  Please email me your team name, division and a mailing address to send the t-shirts to. ONE mailing address per team, that person can be in charge of getting them to their team mates” she wrote.
