Chelan Christian Church to hold Installation Service for Pastor Mark A. Wilton June 10

CHELAN - The Chelan Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) are proud to announce the Installation Service for their recently called minister, Pastor Mark A. Wilton. The service will be on June 10, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Chelan Christian Church, 210 E Wapato Ave, Chelan. Conducting the service will be the Northwest Regional Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ) Regional Minister and President Sandra Messick, Spokane. Chelan area clergy and the general public are invited.
Mark Andrews Wilton serves as the Pastor of the Chelan Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Chelan, Washington since November 12, 2017. The Chelan Church was founded in 1909 and in 2009 celebrated it’s 100-year birthday serving Christ in the Lake Chelan Valley. The current main building was dedicated in May of 1914 and is over 100 years old.
Prior to this Mark served the First Christian Church, Vancouver, Washington as the Minister of Congregational Life and Administration from 2016 to 2017. In December of 2016 the Vancouver church celebrated 126 years as a congregation here in the Pacific Northwest and are a part of the Northwest Regional Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Mark was married to his wife, Ikuko, for 45 years until her death in July 2017. They have two grown Children, Tomotaka and Chiharu who both live in Washington State. They have 4 grandchildren, 3 boys and a girl.
Mark is a graduate of Concordia University, Portland, Oregon with a Bachelor of Business Administration (2002) and a Master of Business Administration (2004). Mark received a Certificate of Pastoral Ministry (2016) from the Mid-America Center for Ministry. Mark was commissioned by the Northwest Region on May 15, 2016 after serving several years as a Lay Leader. Mark has served in numerous lay positions in the Pacific Northwest, including Board Moderator, Vice Moderator, and Elder. Mark has provided supply ministry to other churches in the region.
Mark comes from a long family history with the Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ) and has ties to the mid-west. His father, Rev. Justin Andrews Wilton (deceased) and mother, Emma Lorena Wilton (deceased) served for 41 years in Kansas, Missouri and Illinois until retirement.
Mark retired as a Chief Warrant Officer from the United States Army (20 years) and also retired as the Communications Division Assistant Administrator of the Washington State Patrol (24 years).
