Chelan street closure Wednesday for new asphalt

Posted

Road closure, long delays and traffic impacts expected in project area on Wednesday

Wednesday, May 8, there will be long delays and traffic impacts within the Woodin Avenue Bridge Project area due to paving of the full roadway to make it look like a new surface.

To reduce impacts to the public and businesses, paving will occur in one day. This will result in a closure of the intersection at Woodin and Columbia.

Work will start early in the morning and hopefully the asphalt will be cold enough to drive on by 5pm. For safety, bicyclists are asked to walk their bikes due to the limited space and compromised condition of the roadway.

In other news...first lighting of new bridge light pillars on Thursday

You're invited to head down to the old bridge on Thursday, May 9, for the very first lighting of the new light pillars as they illuminate our historic bridge. Though they'll be functional, the finishing touches, including painting, will happen in June.
