Lake Chelan Rodeo: Broncs, bulls and bruises

Posted

The Lake Chelan Rodeo kicked off with Family Night, Friday, August 4 at Chelan Rodeo Grounds. The night was filled with participants from as far away as Arizona and British Columbia, many active in the Pro Rodeo circuit. With an event lineup full of excitement ranging from Bareback Riding to Bull Riding, the quick-witted clown, Kyle Bode, and “World Famous” Chicken Race, the night was filled with entertainment from start to finish. Saturday, August 5, was deemed “A Blue and Gold Saturday Night” in tribute to FFA. Former Chelan FFA member Diana Sanchez performed the National Anthem, commencing both night’s events. In support of the sudden death of Sanchez’s father, Carlos Sanchez, a “boot” was passed among the spectators in the stands and raised $1,719.50 for the family.
