Lake Chelan School District to hold Levy Forum Nov. 20

Posted

CHELAN - This February, the current Educational Programs and Operations Levy and the Technology Levy that supports the students and staff of the Lake Chelan School District will expire. On the February 2020 ballot, the Lake Chelan School District will ask the community to consider renewing both Levy measures. Again, this is not a new tax, but simply a replacement of the current levies at a lower tax rate.

As a result of these two ballot measures, the District is hosting a Levy Forum for staff and interested community members on Wednesday, Nov. 20 in the new District Office located at 309 E. Johnson Avenue at 6:30 pm. The purpose of this forum is two-fold: To inform and educate the community on the new Levy parameters and

To provide an opportunity for input on the current needs of the district that are underfunded by the state.

This will serve to assist the School Board in developing the Levy proposal prior to authorizing a resolution for the ballot in February.
