Manson and Chelan fireworks displays celebrate the 4th of July, captivate the crowds

Posted

MANSON/CHELAN - Crowds flooded Manson Bay Park on land and water for the big 40-year celebration of the Fourth of July Fireworks show in Manson. Shortly after noon, the crowds began to gather to witness a fly-over of a U.S. Navy F-18 fighter jet from NAS Whidbey Island. The F-18 performed at a low altitude and a low speed and captivated more than one. Following the fly-over, everyone spied SkyDive Chelan’s parachuter jumping with an American flag along with smoke jumpers. Later on into the night, the local band The LakeBoys entertained the crowd as they waited for the fireworks show to begin.  It sure was the largest show in Eastern Washington as it lasted 20 minutes. On Saturday evening, July 6, Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce hosted the Chelan Rockin’ Fireworks show on the lower end of Lake Chelan. The 23 minutes of “ooh’s and ahh’s” was enjoyed by many on the water and in parks along on the shore of the lake.
