More than 50 positions up for election in county

CHELAN COUNTY -  Fifty plus positions are open for election in Chelan, Entiat, Manson, Stehekin and the rest of the Chelan County for the Primary and General Elections later this year.

In Chelan, the Mayor position (see related story) and four seats for City Council are up for re-election. Positions for the Lake Chelan School District, the Lake Chelan Community Hospital District and the Chelan Fire District are also on the list. Other positions open are on the Entiat School District board, Manson School District board, Stehekin School District board, City of Entiat mayor and council, Entiat and Manson fire districts, Chelan Cemetery District #4, Bear Mountain Water District, Manson Park and Recreation District,

Next Monday, May 13 candidate filing begins at 9 a.m. and closes Friday, May 17 at 5 p.m. in the Chelan County Auditor’s Office, 350 Orondo Ave, Level 3 in Wenatchee.  Candidates can also file online  at www.Elections.ChelanCountyWA.gov. from May 13 at 9 a.m. up to 4 p.m. on May 17.

The lot drawing, which determines the order of the candidates on the ballot, will be conducted Friday, May 17 at 5 p.m. The drawing is open to the public and the results will be published online immediately after the drawing is completed.

Primary Elections will be held on August 6 and General Election Day will be on Nov. 5.
