Race set for November Election for Chelan Council, Hospital Commissioner position 1,5

CHELAN - The votes are counted. The stage set. November will feature some hot races for Chelan City Council, and both the Lake Chelan Hospital Commissioner openings in the general election.

Current Planning Commissioner Tim Hollingsworth secured the top spot in the August primary for Chelan City Council position 6, garnering 354 of a total 755 votes - not including write-ins - (46.89%). He will face incumbent Cameron ‘Skip’ Morehouse, who received 322 votes (42.65%) Tuesday night.

Both of the Hospital Commissioner races drew more than double the votes for Chelan Council, and will be hotly contested over the next few months with incumbent Mary Signorelli getting 889 votes (48.03%)compared to challenger Jeremy Jaech, who accumulated 613 votes (33.12%).

The other Hospital Commissioner race was tighter with incumbent Phyllis Gleasman leading with 819 votes (44.98%) over challenger Jerry Isenhart, 780 votes (42.83%).

For each race, whoever can secure the votes that went to the outlining candidates (Andrew Baker, Council, Stan Morse, Hospital Commissioner 1 and Kathy Jo Porter, Hospital Commissioner 5) will likely win the election in November.
