Three events on tap this week in the Lake Chelan Valley

CHELAN - With Memorial Day now in the rear view summer has officially begun in Lake Chelan, which means events are about to dominate the weekends for the next couple of months.

 This weekend, Chelan will play host to the Cruzin Chelan Classic Car Show, the Firefighters Pancake Breakfast and the Chelan Fly-In.

 • Cruzin Chelan

 “The Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce is proud to host the 11th annual Cruzin Chelan Classic Car Show that kicks off the summer season on June 2 and 3,” Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce Media contact Olivia Pew wrote in a press release Friday, May 26. “Locals and visitors alike know the car show is in town when proud car owners line up their coupes, sedans and street rods for the big ‘Show n Shine’. It’s a must-see museum on wheels.”

 For the second year, Cruzin Chelan will host the Pacific Northwest Pro Classic BBQ Competition and a fireworks show is planned Saturday night at Don Morse Park. Before Saturday’s festivities, the Chamber is kicking off the event with a party at Wapato Point Cellars on Friday, June 2.

 There you can, “pre-register for Saturday’s Show ‘n’ Shine and take a first look at the classic cars and trucks that will battle it out for the title of “Best of Show” on Saturday and delight in a buffet-style dinner while you enjoy a glass of wine. Saturdays events include.
• 5-6 p.m.: Happy Hour
• 5-8 p.m.: Wine Tasting
• 5-9 p.m.: Early Registration for Saturday’s Show ’n’ Shine
• 6-8p.m.: Dinner at The Winemaker’s Grill
• 6-9 p.m.: Live music by The LakeBoys
 
Tickets are $29.99 and can be purchased online at lakechelan.com, at the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce or at Wapato Point Cellars.

 • Pancake Breakfast

 The Chelan Fire District 7 Volunteer Firefighters Association and Auxiliary Pancake Breakfast will run from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3 at the Chelan Fire Station at 232 E. Wapato Ave.

 The menu will be pancakes, plain or blueberry, ham, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice. The cost is a minimum $5 donation per person. All funds collected will go to supporting local fire fighting activities.

 The Fire Department will also have the “old parade truck” available for rides during the breakfast.

 • Chelan Fly-In

 The 17th annual Lake Chelan Fly-In will also be having a pancake breakfast with ham, eggs, coffee and juice from 8 to 11 a.m. for $7 at Hangar 30, Airport Way, Chelan, at the Lake Chelan Municipal Airport. There will be classic, experimental and general aviation air crafts.
