Vehicles collide on Highway 97

On Thursday, June 28 Chelan Fire & Rescue along with Lake Chelan Valley EMS, Chelan County Sheriff, and Washington State Patrol units responded to a head on collision on U.S. 97 north of Apple Acres Road. Arriving units found a Honda Pilot had collided head on with a minivan causing significant damage to both vehicles along with air bag deployment. All victims were treated and released at the scene without any injuries. Cause of the accident was attributed to driver of the Honda Pilot falling asleep at the wheel and crossing over into the northbound traffic lane. Holiday traffic on U.S. 97 was slightly delayed during the investigation and clean-up of the accident.
