Veterans to be honored throughout the week in Chelan, Manson and Entiat

MOE Veteran’s Day Assembly

CHELAN - Morgan Owings Elementary has invited members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) to be recognized during the assembly. The little ones will sing songs to honor those Veterans present, while the fourth and fifth graders will be doing some readings regarding the celebration. Two Chelan high schoolers will join and play the trumpets as guests offer a moment of  silence in memory of all who served our country.

Veteran's Day Assembly will be held in the Main Gym and open to all Veterans and community members.

Manson High School's Veterans Breakfast
Friday, Nov. 9, beginning at
8:30 a.m.

MANSON - All local veterans are cordially invited to attend a breakfast in their honor at Manson High School. Students will be preparing and serving pancakes, eggs, bacon and coffee.  Please join them as they honor those who have served.

Veteran’s Day Parade and Barbecue Lunch
Sunday, Nov. 11, 11 a.m., Downtown Chelan

CHELAN - Join the VFW at Chelan’s annual Veteran’s Day Parade honoring all who served. Bring your flag, be proud, show your patriotism. Parade route: Columbia Street to Woodin Avenue to Sanders Street, ends at Wapato Avenue. Immediately following theparade, join the veterans for a barbeque lunch provided by the Chelan #7 Firefighters at Station 71. Veterans and First Responders eat free. Others welcome to join in for a $5 donation. Proceeds benefit the Lake Chelan VFW Post #6853. Interested in being a parade participant contact Brian Thompson, bltzown@yahoo.com

Veteran’s Day Celebration
American Legion - Post 108
Sunday, Nov. 11, 11 a.m.

MANSON - Take a few minutes out of your day and join members of American Legion Post 108 as they honor those that have served the country. American Legion Post Commander Clyde McClullough will lead a formal ceremony honoring our veterans. The event will take place at the American Legion Park across from the Manson Business Center. The Manson High School band will be there to play some patriotic songs. Treats will available after the ceremony.
