Service Saturday, February 10, 1 p.m., at Manes Funeral Home

Aileen Jenkins went home to be with the Lord and her family on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Newport Medical Center.

 

Aileen was born on October 15, 1927 to Joe and Ella Edmonds, the fourth of nine children.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Y J Jenkins, her parents Joe and Ella Edmonds, her brother and sister-in-law Joe Edmonds Jr. and wife Grace, her brother and sister-in-law Paul Edmonds and wife Earlene, her brother Hugh Edmonds, her sister Lucille Williams, her sister and brother-in-law Virginia Proffitt and husband David, sister-in-law Phyllis Edmonds, son-in-law Gene Nigro, niece Glenda Williams, nephew Clark Williams, and nephew Robbie Edmonds.

 

She is survived by her daughter Gail Nigro, son and daughter-in-law Mike and Sandra Jenkins, brother and sister-in-law John and Ruth Edmonds, brother Bob Edmonds, brother and sister-in-law Earl and Ila Ruth Edmonds. Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren Jay and Rachel Morrison, Scot Morrison, Heather Fenton, John and Sarah Jenkins, Michele and Jay Sessoms, and Peter and Mary Katherine Nigro. She had sixteen precious great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews along with countless special friends and church families.

 

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Manes Funeral Home with the service at 1 p.m. officiated by Rev. Fred Cagle. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

 

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Wellington Manor and Newport Medical Center for their kind and compassionate care. A special thanks to her church families that have supported her and her family though the years.
