Ann Davis

Posted

Ann Davis, age 100, formerly of 25 Mile Creek, Washington, died peacefully on September 20, 2017 in San Martin, CA. She was born in Seattle in 1917. In 2013 at 95, she decided to “escape the old folks’ home,” in Wenatchee, WA, and began a new adventure to live with her children in California—where she enjoyed her 100th birthday celebration surrounded by family and friends in May 2017.

After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Washington. She was married to David Davis in 1939. They settled at 25-Mile Creek on Lake Chelan, her family homestead, where they owned and operated an apple orchard.

Ann was active in the community with St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and Eastern Star. She had a busy life raising her five children and remained a lifelong learner, enjoying traveling, gardening, reading, Sudoko, sewing, and knitting. Ann was ever curious, known for her wit and dry sense of humor, her kindness, and welcoming spirit. Even at 100 years old, she was always the best dressed in the family.

She is survived by her five children: Joanne Lundby (Darrel) of Spokane, Wash. Jim Davis of Modesto, Calif.; Judy Lisewych (Jerry) of Chelan, Wash.; John Davis of Seattle, Wash.; Jaryl Lore (Craig) of San Martin, Calif.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, David, in 2012.

A Memorial Service will he held, November 25, 2017 in Gilroy, Calif. Another celebration of Ann’s life will be held locally in the summer of 2018.

Donations in Ann’s memory may be made to Chelan Museum, P.O. Box 1948, Chelan, WA 98816 or a charity of one’s choice.
