Darrin Ellis Hart

Posted

Darrin Ellis Hart passed away at the home of his mother, Rhea Flick Gilbert, in Deer Park, Wash. on March 30, 2018.   He had valiantly fought his battle with Appendix Cancer for 10 years and for the last month was in Hospice Home care.

Darrin was born on March 19, 1965 to Larry Hart and Rhea Flick.  He was a 13 year senior at Chelan High School and graduated in 1983.  He entered the U.S. Army in 1987 and served 3 years with the 10th Mountain Division stationed at Fort Drum, N.Y.  After the service Darrin attended the California School of Arts specializing in animation. He was a multi talented artist and attained a position as senior/lead animator with Warner Brothers before his health declined.

Chelan was always home for Darrin.  He loved fishing the streams and Lake Chelan.  A great passion for him was his love for RC quadracopter drones. Most of all, his time with his beloved dog Bleu brought both of them unbridled  love and comfort.

For most of the 10 years that Darrin dealt with his cancer he spent time on the PMP Cancer site helping others who were dealing with this disease.  His art work, regarding different things that one goes thru, was a source of enjoyment for all the members.

Darrin is survived by his mother, Rhea Gilbert, his stepfather, Bud Gilbert; his sisters, Colleen Poynter and Audra Ashmore.  His Aunts, Lola Barkley and Lorraine Church.  His Uncle Bob Flick and wife Terri.  Nieces and nephews, Steven, Marque and Colby Flick and Hannah Ashmore.

Preceding his death were his father, Larry W. Hart, grandparents, Bill and Shirley Flick and Bill and Alma Hart.
