Donald Bert Fellows

Memorial service at Lake Chelan Senior Center, 534 E. Trow Avenue, Feb. 2, 3 to 5 p.m

Donald Bert Fellows passed away at his home in Chelan on January 19, 2018 at the age of 94.  He was born in Lewiston, Idaho, the first of 10 children of Oliver Reeves Fellows and Bertha Elsie Wagner.

Don moved to Chelan in 1934 at the age of 9, and graduated from Chelan High School in 1943.  He enlisted in the Navy Seabees in 1944 and spent his war years in the South Pacific and Japan.

After being honorably discharged in 1946 he moved back to Chelan and accepted a job with Safeway, where he had worked while still in high school.

He stayed there for 13 years before moving to a store manager position in St. Maries, Idaho.  Don eventually moved to California and finished his career working for a large grocery chain.  Retiring in 1985 he settled back in Chelan where he bought property and built his retirement home.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.

He is survived by his daughter, Joyce (Gary) Funston of Dairy, Oregon, his son Loren Fellows of Lowell, Mass., and his brothers Gorden Fellows of Warden, Ernie Fellows of Cashmere, and Alvin Fellows of the Tri-cities. 

A memorial service will be held at the Lake Chelan Senior Center, 534 E. Trow Avenue, on February 2, 2018 from 3 to 5 p.m.  Deserts and beverages will be served.
