Gene Paul Killian

Gene Paul Killian passed away peacefully in his Reno home on November 27, 2018 at the age of 84.

 

Paul was born June 28, 1934 in Manson, Wash. to Curtis and Vivian Killian. He is survived by Carolyn Killian, wife of 42 years; children Marilyn (Steve) Gilchrist, Donna Killian, and Hal Killian; stepchildren Ron (Cathryn) Lee, Jim Lee, and Brenda (Nick) Petrelli; brothers Harrison and Kenneth (Roxie); 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Steve Killian and brother Curt Killian. He is also survived by Alice Killian, mother of his children; Amy Killian, daughter-in-law (wife of son Steve); and sister-in-law Zulma Killian (wife of Curt).

 

After serving in the Army during the Korean War Paul attended Washington State University, ultimately earning his Doctorate in Education. He retired as Director of Research and Development from Washoe County School District after 23 years.

 

Paul enjoyed building and woodworking, camping and skiing, and everything about computers. He built the family cabin at Frenchman Lake, Calif. and spent part of each summer at Lake Chelan in Washington where he grew up, a gathering place for the entire Killian family. He truly loved life.

 

There will be a celebration of life for Paul at the Coney Island Bar in Sparks, Nevada on Dec. 15, 2018. Please RSVP to family.
