Harriet Olive (Hobbie) Morehead

 Hobbie (Buckner) Morehead, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 after a long full life.

She was born on September 15, 1921 in Manson, the second daughter to Harry and Olive (Field) Buckner of Stehekin. She graduated from Chelan High School and married Kenneth Morehead on January 27, 1946 in Stehekin.  She made her home in Manson for the rest of her life.  

Hobbie was involved in the community of Manson in many ways, as a member of Manson Muscular Dystrophy Guild, the Lake Chelan Outboard Club, Manson Community Council, Manson Growers Co-op,    Manson Apple Blossom, and also served on the Lake Chelan Historical Society board of directors.  

Survivors include her children, Dwight (Patricia) Morehead of Freeland, Larry (Sally) Morehead of Longview, Adrienne (Keith) Carpenter of Manson, Lucinda (Jim) Gilbert of Manson, Christy (Rocky) Libbey of Manson, and Scott (Holly) Morehead of Ballard.  Hobbie had 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Bucky) Gans of Stehekin and Goleta, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, her parents Harry and Olive Buckner, and her sister Irene Sargo.

Services are under the direction of Precht Rose Chapel on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Northshore Bible Church, Manson, Wash.
