James R "Jim" Avenell passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 . He was born September 19, 1941, to Floyd and Geneva Avenell in Wenatchee, Wash. He lived in Shelton, Wash. for 3 1/2 years.
James attended Spokane Valley Technical and Junior College, receiving an Architectural Engineering Certificate. He was self-employed, having a Building Designer License and General Contractor license in Washington and California, and a Real Estate Broker (Realtor) license in Washington and Arizona.
He enjoyed owning and captaining boats, and fishing.
James was married to Laura “Kim” Avenell for 27 years prior to her death on November 6, 2017. His parents also predeceased him.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Avenell, Daryl Avenell, Randall Avenell, and Brandon Clarke; and seven grandchildren.
His family will hold a private gathering to spread Jim and Kim's ashes in the Pacific Ocean at a future date.
