Jean-Michel Henri Bolomey

Posted

1941-2018

Jean-Michel Henri Bolomey, age 77, of Chelan, Washington, passed peacefully in his home on September 9, 2018, after briefly suffering from a very aggressive form of bone cancer.  JM was born to Edith Crottaz Bolomey and Henri Alfred Abram Bolomey of Geneva, Switzerland on March 22, 1941.  Educated in Switzerland as an Electrical Engineer, JM began his career working for the Swissair.  His love of aviation and travel brought Jean-Michel to the United Stats of America.  He had a long and successful career here in the U.S. designing and building flight safety computers for aircraft.  His computers helped to save untold numbers of lives by preventing plane crashes into terrain or due to wind shear situations.

JM is survived by his loving wife Nancy E. Bolomey, his younger brother Pierre-Alain Bolomey, and his four children; Brent Bolomey, Brian Halbert, Rebeca Partman and Robin Halbert.   He was a loving husband, father, and proud grandfather of seven.  He was first and foremost a devoted family man.  He was a brilliant engineer and a loving caring friend who will be greatly missed.
