It is with sad hearts that we tell that our mother, Judy Marie Hook passed away at her home in Brewster on March 14, 2017.

Judy Marie Hook was born January 17, 1945 in Spokane, Wash to Marie Vera Ingraham and James Stroud.

Judy lived in the Spokane area before moving to North Bend in 1950. She attended Mount Si High School where she met the man who would later become her husband, Thomas Hook.  They were married in 1962 in North Bend, Wash.  They had three children; Steven, Kelly and Wendy. Tom and Judy lived in Whidbey Island, Wash. while Tom was in the Navy.  In 1963 they had their first child, Steven.  In 1964 once Tom was out of the Navy, they moved to Bainbridge Island for about one year.  In 1965 they moved to the Skagit Valley; specifically Diablo and Nehalem.  In 1966 they had their middle child, Kelly.

In 1967 they moved to Madeline Falls for a year before returning to Diablo. In 1969 Judy and Tom had their third and final child, Wendy.  They lived in the Diablo-Nehalem area where Tom worked for Seattle City Light until moving to Pateros in 1974. While Tom with Douglas County PUD at Wells Dam, Judy went to work in the packing sheds in Pateros and the Pateros IGA grocery store.  She then worked for many years at the Brewster Drug store.

Once they were empty nesters, Tom and Judy decided to go their separate ways and in the fall of 1999, Judy moved to Arizona.  She lived in Lake Havasu City and was there for nearly five years.  Judy was a people person who always enjoyed entertaining guests and spending time with her friends.

In 2004 she moved to Pasco, Wash. where she was much closer to her mother, children and grandchildren.

During their children’s school years, Judy was very active in the kid’s interests and activities. Judy instilled manners, ethics, courage and a strong family unity within her children.  She was always the one to host Christmas dinners with family, friends or whoever passed by her home. Her love for the holidays was precious. In her younger years she enjoyed being on the water in the summer or backpacking in the mountains but be assured; family was always nearby and always put first.   Whether she was called Judy, mom, Gram or Mema she was always a huge supporter of her family.  She had a contagious smile that would always lighten up any room and a laugh that warmed hearts around her.

When her mother Marie moved to Brewster in 2010, Judy moved next door to be closer to her.  They were inseparable until Marie passed in 2012. Judy lived her last years in Brewster.  She continued to visit with her children, grandchildren and their families.  She passed her time by reading her favorite books, cook books, baking and crocheting blankets, throws and whatever she could knit.

Judy was preceded in death by her mother, father, step-father, one grandson and one nephew.

She is survived by her brother Ben Wells of Hawaii, ex-husband Tom Hook, her three children; Steven Hook and his wife Nattalie of Pasco, Wash., Kelly Hook and his wife Nicole of Brewster and daughter Wendy Hernandez and her husband Alejandro.  Her five grandchildren, one niece and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.  Her children will dearly miss her smile and tender heart.

A private grave side service with family will take place April 1, 2017 at St. Mary Presentation Catholic Church and Cemetery in Deer Park, Wash.

Please leave any thoughts and memories for the family at www.barneschapel.com.  Barnes Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements.
