Peter Stutz

Posted

Peter Stutz, 80, passed March 28, 2019 in his sleep in Chelan County.
He leaves stepchildren, Kathleen Bradley, Colleen Bohnett, Reid Bradley, Lisa Bradley, extended family in the U.S. and Europe, and close friends.  He was married to Alys Epper Stutz.
Born in Zurich, Switzerland, in 1938, his childhood was concurrent with World War II.  His family lived near the train station.  He was interested in trains throughout his life.
He studied at Winterthur Technical University.  His first work was on antennas in the Alps.  He emigrated to U.S. in the 60’s, to Chicago then the West Coast.  Jobs included designing a data recording system used in controlling the trains at SeaTac.
Peter got his ham license in Switzerland.  He held offices in Chelan’s ham club with his dear friend J.M.  Bolomey, also from Switzerland.
Peter loved Chelan.  He volunteered at Holden.  After visiting what is now the senior center, he changed its status to a nonprofit, to what is now the Chelan Senior Center.   He was elected president, though had not run for office.  He loved the people and activities at center.
His Celebration of Life will be August 17, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at his beloved Chelan Senior Center.
