Lake Chelan Senior Men's Golf

CHELAN - The Lake Chelan Senior Men’s Golf Club formed in 1999 held regular play on Wednesday, July 31 at the Lake Chelan Golf Course.  Approximately 34 Senior Members age 55 and over, along with John Peehl returning from a long absence and guest, Tim Olson, teed off with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.  Prior to play, Club Members welcomed new Members Bob Houston and Charlie Gildner.
After play, the Club held its 2019 Summer Meeting.  A Motion was presented and approved to change the Club’s By-Laws to expand the Vice-President Officer’s duties to include contacting long term absent Members to check on their status.  George Nickle the Secretary/Treasurer reported the Club has a current balance of $144 in the 3-Putt Fund for the 2019 season to date.  The Members in attendance were reminded the 3 Putt Fund Balance is donated every year to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Scott Patrick announced to the members, Tony Berger's Memorial Bench would be arriving soon.  The bench will be placed at the Lake Chelan Golf Course on Hole #12.  Scott shared with the group that Tony was a tireless worker who was generous with his time in supporting Men’s and Senior Men’s Golf Club related events.   And, the members were told the 2nd Annual Tony Berger Memorial Golf Scramble Tournament will be held at the Lake Chelan Golf Course on Saturday, Sept. 14.
The game competition results from Wednesday, July 31 are as follows:  The Mega Par 3 Game Competition Award winners for the Month of July on Hole #11 were John Hancock (Distance 7’ 3”) and Cliff House (Distance 7’ 11”).  The winner of the Long Drive Contest on Hole #14 was John Hancock.  In the Closest to the Pin Contest on Hole #2, Mike Giffin was the winner with a distance of 27’ 2”.  For the Most Greens Hit on Par 3’s contest, first place went to Stefan Dobratz (4), second place was Cliff House (2), and Dan Dedo and Dr. Darrell Richards tied for third place (1).  In the Stableford Scoring contest Pat Sullivan won first place, second place went to Jim Wisdom, Bob Carleton was the third place finisher, and Ed Ferguson and Scott Patrick tied for fourth place.
It was reported 18 Senior Men’s Club Members will be traveling to the Three Lakes Golf Course on Tuesday, August 6 for a Field Day that will include Team Scoring Competitions, Closest to the Pin Competitions on the Par 3 Holes and a Long Drive Contest.  Dr. Darrell Richards, Ellis Nierenberg and Dan Dedo are the Field Day Captains and they reported the Three Lakes Golf Course Scorecards would be pre-filled to include each Golfer’s Course Handicap.  The following day, on Wednesday, August 7 the Senior Men will resume normal play at the Lake Chelan Golf Course.  
Members were instructed to periodically check the Club’s Bulletin Board located near the Pro Shop for Club News, Member Pictures, and to locate assistance on how to access their Handicap Indexes and Course Handicaps.  And, members were reminded to check their Handicap Indexes that were scheduled to be updated effective August 1.
