Reach 1 Trail to Chelan River will close Oct. 9-10 for fresh gravel

CHELAN – The much-used and well-loved Reach 1 Trail to the Chelan River will be closed Oct. 9 and 10 so a contractor for Chelan PUD can safely refresh the gravel path by regrading a few sections, compacting the base and adding a 2-inch topcoat of new gravel.

 Signs are out to let trail users know the closure is coming. There will be barricades at the Chelan Butte trailhead starting Monday, Oct. 9 through Tuesday, Oct. 10 when the work is finished. (See attached map). Dump trucks will travel up and down the trail to place gravel.

 MOE Asphalt of Wenatchee will do the work estimated at $62,000.
