STATE SENATORS VISIT CHELAN COUNTY TOURING HYDRO & LINK TRANSIT FACILITIES

WENATCHEE – At the invitation of State Senator Brad Hawkins (12th District) a member of the Senate Energy, Environment and Technology Committee, members of the Committee, including the Chair and Vice Chair, came to Wenatchee to hear about energy and transportation efforts taking place in Chelan County.
 
Steve Wright, General Manager of Chelan PUD and Richard DeRock, General Manager of Link Transit provided information to the visiting Senators.
 
In particular, the committee members heard about vehicle electrification, grid reliability and climate impacts on the transportation and energy sectors. Attending the fielding meeting along with Hawkins were:  Committee Chair Sen. Reuven Carlyle (36th District/Seattle); Committee Vice Chair Sen. Guy Palumbo (1st District/No. King/So. Snohomish counties); and Sen. Tim Sheldon (35th District/Olympic Peninsula.
