Posted

CASHMERE – The Chelan Goats met on Cashmere Bulldog turf for the annual Battle for the Shoe. Since the beginning of the battle in 1953, Chelan has taken the win 12 of the 63 games, with one tie.

During an interview with Lake Chelan Mirror staff, Goats Head Coach Travis Domser complimented the Bulldogs’ players and coaching staff, stating “they are very well coached, their kids are discipline, they’re tough, but we’re always ready,” however the Bulldogs were relentless out of the gate this year, denying even a brief moment for the Goats to gain any momentum. The Goats were unable to put any points on the board, leaving a final score of Bulldogs 49 to the Goats’ 0.

The Goats’ stats for this year’s Bronze Shoe include:

  • 11 First Downs
  • 37 Yards Rushing
  • 32-15-1 Attmepts-Completed-Intercepted
  • 175 Passing Yards
  • 49 Total Plays
  • 6 Penalties for a total of 73 yards lost
  • 3 punts for 97 yards
