Chelan High School graduates 115

CHELAN - More than 500 people packed  the Chelan High School Gym Friday, June 7 to celebrate the graduation of the class of 2019.

The Valedictorian address was given by Sierra Rothlisberger and Colt Corrigan gave his Salutatorian address afterwords. Now CHS alumni, Lucy Bordner, Abigail Martin and Gavaynn Peterson delighted all with a musical presentation. Bordner played the piano, while Peterson followed along with the drum set, Martin sang the lyrics to “Rivers & Roads” and played the bass guitar.

Speakers included Associate Principal Crosby Carpenter, who will be leaving a the end of the year and become principal in the Methow valley.  Students Rosa Lopez Barboza and Andrea Villa Garcia were selected as Class Speakers. Villa Garica  delivered her speech in Spanish. A Class of 2019 slide show was presented to the attendees and the graduation class.

Superintendent Barry DePaoli along with the Lake Chelan School District Board members presented the Diplomas to the 115 students one by one. Dia Galvan was the Honored Reader Of Graduate Names.

Spirit of Chelan Winner, Benjamin Nygreen and Kassie Strange, Perseverance Award Winner led the rest of their classmates into the traditional change of tassels.
