Roots Community School spring musical May 23-24

The Roots Community School will debut its first spring musical May 23-24, 7:30 p.m. at the Roots School in Lakeside. “A Year with Frog and Toad” follows the woodland adventures oftwo amphibious friends, a worrywart toad and a perky frog, with their assorted colorful hopping, crawling, and flying companions. “The kids have been wonderful to work with”, reports director  Cheryl Ann Crego. “Musicals require sustained attention and effort and I am impressed with their concentration.” The play is free to the general public and donations will be accepted.  Project-based learning is a cornerstone of the Roots educational experience. Roots will  produce a musical each spring as one of its annual projects. Students learn dramatic and musical skills and valuable lifelong habits in public speaking, problem-solving, and teamwork.  Roots has had a successful inaugural year. It will end the year with 18 enrolled students.
