Chelan Mountain Goats Sports Roundup

CHELAN - The Chelan Mountain Goats faced a week of intense competition, with teams showcasing their skills and determination in various sporting events. While some teams celebrated hard-fought victories, others faced tough losses, providing opportunities for growth and reflection. As the student-athletes competed in tennis, baseball, softball, soccer, and golf, they exemplified the values of dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship that are at the core of Chelan's athletic programs.

Tennis:

Chelan hosted Cascade, with the boys securing a 4-1 victory and the girls falling 3-2. Rylen Moody, Ian Garfoot, and the Sanderson brothers picked up key wins for the boys, while Ellie McLemore and Josie Garfoot notched victories for the girls. The boys improve to 2-1 in league play, while the girls fall to 2-1.

Baseball:

Chelan Baseball dominated the Cascade Kodiaks, winning 24-2. Hollenbeck, Reinhart, and Finch delivered strong pitching performances, while Cruz, Hollenbeck, Rainville, Reinhart, Orestad, and Harris contributed multiple hits.

Softball:

The Chelan Girls Softball team defeated the Cascade Kodiaks 12-2. Olivia Mack pitched five impressive innings, allowing only two hits and striking out eight batters. Jayci Simmons hit a home run, while Denali Corrigan and Grace Roberts went 3-4 at the plate.

Soccer:

CHS soccer fell to the Cascade Kodiaks 6-0, giving up four goals in the first half and two in the second. The Goats look to bounce back against the Cashmere Bulldogs on Thursday as they continue league play.

Boys Golf:

The Chelan boys' golf team competed at the Malaga 3 Lakes Golf Course. Carson Clinton shot 75 to finish 7th in the field of 80, while Chase Woodley and Grant Coonrod had respectable scores. Freshmen Holden Pollard, Tev Uttech, and Hyuan Otom also contributed to the team's performance. 

Golf Vs. Omak Recap:

Chelan hosted Omak in a cold and rainy match. Carson Clinton shot the lowest score of 74, while Jailyn Reinhart shot 61 for 9 holes. The weather proved challenging, but both teams demonstrated resilience.
