Manson celebrates 104th Apple Blossom Festival with library display

Posted

MANSON - The Manson Community Library is hosting a special display in honor of the town's 104th Apple Blossom Festival. The display, curated by library board member Carla Everett, showcases the rich history of the festival through a collection of memorabilia and artifacts.

The exhibit features a button display, with the oldest button dating back to 1949, as well as a selection of Queen's gowns and a Train Bearer's dress from 1952. Visitors can also view a crown and scepter from 1963, and crowns worn by three sisters who were royalty in 1967, 1970, and 1973.

One of the highlights of the display is the story of the "Crown Lady," who made the first crown in 1948 and passed the tradition down to family members who continue to create crowns for the Manson Apple Blossom Royalty to this day.

The Manson Community Library invites residents and visitors to stop by and learn more about the history of the Apple Blossom Festival. The library is open on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
